Boulders by the South Jetty Foredune

You may have noticed that some boulders have been placed down at the South Jetty parking lot by the sandy/grassy area between the parking area and the beach. The sandy/grassy area is known as the foredune.  The foredune is a naturally occurring  barrier that protects properties in the area from damage due to large waves during Winter storms.  The boulders were placed in an attempt to prevent further erosion of the foredune, caused by vehicles.
