On or about July 26, 2016 a Bandon resident reported seeing a large snake approximately 12 ft. long and 8” wide.  There was an additional sighting on July 28, 2016 in the NE area of town.  Chief Webb has been in contact with both of the residents and looked at the snake tracks.

Chief Webb confirms he does believe there is a snake on the loose in our area.  Bandon Police ask citizens in the area to remain vigilant, keeping an eye on small pets and remind your children to stay away from snakes.  We also ask that if anyone locates the snake to NOT approach or attempt to capture it.
