City of Bandon, Oregon

Salary: $3,623 - $4,919/month

 

BANDON POLICE DEPARTMENT: 

The Bandon Police Department is a 24-hour service law enforcement organization serving a municipality of approximately 3,400 people.  The department is staffed with an Administrative Assistant, four Patrol Officers, a Patrol Sergeant and Chief.  The department also has a Reserve Police Officer program.

JOB DUTIES:

The Police Officer uses a “Community Policing” approach; responding to calls for service and assistance from citizens, patrolling to deter and detect crime, investigating complaints, citing and/or arresting law violators, following up on pending reports and cases, preparing and/or serving warrants, and protecting persons and property, is consistently in line with the agency’s mission, goals and objectives and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum qualifications:  Applicants must be citizens of the United States; at least 21 years of age at the time of employment; and have completed High School or G.E.D. certifications.  Candidate must be of good moral character and be able to pass an extensive background investigation, including a comprehensive Criminal History check, psychological exam and physical exam.  Candidate must have the ability to qualify for Law Enforcement Data System Inquiry Certification. Applicant must possess a valid Oregon Driver’s license; multitasking skills, computer literacy and keyboard skills.  

COMPENSATION:

The Bandon Police Officer receives City paid (90%) health, dental and optical insurance plans in addition to Retirement benefits.
