ADUs
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are attached or detached residential structures that are accessory to a single-family dwelling. The City allows these units in any residential zone, a maximum of one per lot, and with certain size limitations (900 square feet or 60% of the primary dwelling's floor area, whichever is smaller).
To apply, the following should be submitted to the Planning department, along with a check for $200.
- One set of to-scale plans (paper or digital) including a site plan, floor plan, and elevation drawings.
- Complete signed Land Use Application and Accessory Dwelling Unit addendum.
- If the property is located in a hazard overlay, floodplain, or other natural hazard area, additional permits may be required.
